Is your 1L Legal Research class starting to feel like a distant memory? Are you concerned that your research skills might not be up to par for your upcoming summer placement? If so, the Law Library has just the solution for you! We are offering three valuable programs designed to help you enhance your legal research skills.
Our “Lunchtime Labs” are back! These sessions are tailored to provide hands-on practice with finding cases, statutes, secondary sources, and practice materials—the essential elements of legal research. Open to both 1L and 2L students, these labs are a great opportunity to refresh and strengthen your research abilities.
The Lunchtime Labs will run over three weeks, with two sessions on the same topic each week.
- Week 1 (March 31st & April 4th): Focus on secondary sources and practice materials, including forms and jury instructions.
- Week 2 (April 7th & 9th): Explore cases, digests, and citators.
- Week 3 (April 14th & 16th): Dive into statutory annotations and their significance.
All sessions will be held in Room 300, and each is limited to 25 students to ensure an interactive experience. Lunch will be provided so join us for an opportunity to refresh your research skills—a true win-win!
