Are you not receiving texts from your Android friends via iMessage on your iPad or Mac? If you’re like me, the answer is no and the only way you received them was on your iPhone. Don’t worry b/c you’re in luck, by changing a few options on your iPhone will fix this issue. Afterwards, you’ll be able receive and respond to ALL your friends via iMessage regardless of what device you’re on!

I recently made these changes, and it significantly improved the way I communicate with other throughout my personal Apple ecosystem. I wrote this up to share because I work in IT and didn’t know this, so if it’s new to me I thought it could probably help other people in our community as well. Please see below…thanks!

iOS Changes

  1. On your iPhone, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive
    1. Add a check to both your phone number and email address.
  2. While still on your iPhone, go to Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding
    1. Enable the device(s) that you want to forward messages to.
