Personal Contributions: Chief Executive Group

Throughout the duration of my time with Chief Executive Group, I have worked on projects for the sales, research, and writing teams. These projects have entailed meeting virtually with each team and getting a brief overview of what they would like me to work on, in addition to having the opportunity to ask clarifying questions. These projects have often involved researching potential leads who would be valuable clients and speakers at Chief Executive events. For one project, in particular, I was tasked with compiling a spreadsheet of potential leads who would be interesting in sponsoring an event to honor the recipient of Chief Executives CEO of the Year award. Given how I spent the majority of my previous internship with IAB researching potential leads for their learning & development team, I was able to acclimate to this research project for Chief Executive very quickly. This notion is attributable to the fact that I came in with prior knowledge regarding the best websites to use to find the correct contact information for senior executives in a timely manner. This step was crucial because reaching out directly to C-suite executives has proven to be the most effective way to generate sponsorships, but their email addresses are often quite difficult to find, especially if they work for a larger company. As a result, I have been able to use my experience to help procure over a hundred leads who may be interested in sponsoring Chief Executive’s CEO of the year event. This contribution has been especially valuable for the sales team because hunting for leads tends to be an extremely time-consuming process. Consequently, my ability to handle the project independently and procure a significant amount of leads has enabled them to focus on planning more pressing events.

I believe my creative insights into the research process have largely enhanced the team’s ability to find sponsors. Given that the CEO of Bank of America is the recipient of our CEO of the year award, the sales team recommended that I research Bank of America’s corporate partnerships, vendors, and suppliers as a means of finding organizations that would be interested in honoring him. Once I had researched those areas, I began brainstorming other uncharted ways to find leads. I began looking into the CEO’s personal affiliations, including the charities he is involved with and the law school he attended. This enabled me to discover additional leads that may have otherwise been overlooked. As a result, I believe my perspective and fresh approach to the research process have enabled me to make valuable contributions to Chief Executive Group.
