NPR – Future of Christians in Middle East

This recent Talk of the Nation program reminded me that there was (relatively speaking) more religious tolerance and diversity in the Middle East in the past than there is now.   I wonder if this really was/is the case and what is contributing to this?  Listen and see what you think:
