So what? That was my first reaction when I came into contact with the Icarians…I probably will never need to know this much in depth information concerning a defunct utopian community ever again.  But it’s not the materials I learned that are important.  It’s the information I learned outside the box.  Research methods and the necessity to reflect on one’s work are more important during a research project than the topic itself. Through the work I put in for the seminar paper, I strove to dedicate myself to finding the best and most useful sources of education to shed light on a fairly obscure community.  The process I learned and the steps I took to get to the final research paper weren’t the most fun, but they certainly were the most productive and rewarding.
