All of the research in the Beyond Categories lab relies on a team of undergraduate researchers. However, this laboratory is unusual because primarily undergraduate institutions do not typically provide training in functional neuroimaging or electrophysiology. Access to electrophysiology provides the undergraduate students in the Beyond Categories lab with a deeper understanding of cognitive neuroscience and other STEM disciplines. To provide more undergraduate students with EEG/ERP experience, the Beyond Categories lab is leading a collaborative initiative to develop a core set of teaching modules and a virtual ERP lab.
