Welcome!
This page is dedicated to understanding the current infrastructure of Richmond through a specific lens. Since the water crisis in Flint, Michigan has still not subsided, I was curious and concerned for the community members who would most likely be affected by something similar. Flin is only one of many cases where contamination due to poor infrastructure threatens the lives of many city residents. The Richmond Department of Utilities released a confidence report ensuring it would replace all public pipelines but has not confirmed a public position on helping homeowners to prevent a crisis from happening nor does it address the other factors that go in to water treatment and distribution to its citizens. The proposal presented below is designed to compile information that can be presented to be public in a clear, effective manner while also providing short and long term goals concerning prevention, action, and recovery to those already impacted. I hope to provide some insight in my findings and am more than happy to recieve any criticism, input, or words of motivation while I research this topic. Here’s to a bright future!
