{"id":75,"date":"2012-04-04T14:59:43","date_gmt":"2012-04-04T18:59:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/ti3d\/?p=75"},"modified":"2012-04-04T14:59:43","modified_gmt":"2012-04-04T18:59:43","slug":"open-sources-for-3d-designs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/ti3d\/2012\/04\/04\/open-sources-for-3d-designs\/","title":{"rendered":"Open Sources for 3D Designs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We hope to find many more open sources for 3D designs, but the following list are the ones we have used in the Center.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thingiverse.com\/\">Thingiverse<\/a> &#8211; started by Makerbot Industries, this is <strong>the<\/strong>\u00a0site for finding (and sharing!) ready-to-print designs.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/sketchup.google.com\/3dwarehouse\/\">Google 3D Warehouse<\/a> &#8211; this site is a large repository for designs that are compatible with Google SketchUp. \u00a0Most are probably not designed to be 3D-printed, but most are 3D and could probably be adapted.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sharecg.com\/learn_more.php\">sharecg<\/a> &#8211; this site is most frequented by computer graphics designers and moviemakers. \u00a0However, the objects are freely available and most come in a format that is convertible to something that can be printed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We hope to find many more open sources for 3D designs, but the following list are the ones we have used in the Center.
