I don’t have any questions about the syllabus after reading through it.
I think one of the most important things for me is going to be time management. I get the feeling that success in this class, and my quality of life in general, is going to be directly correlated to how early I start working on assignments!
I’m sure the information about assignments and the final assessment will be useful to know going forward. I didn’t realize we’d be quoting ourselves from our own posts within our final assignment.
I only wonder what topic the final assignment will concern?
Something that I have never done before, but I am excited to do is analyze my writing at the middle and end of the semester. It will be interesting to see how my writing has changed and how this course has impacted me. I also think it will be fun to review my writing and have the chance to revisit old topics we discussed in class.
6-9 hours of work out of class is new to me. It also seems like there will be higher writing expectations, and I am curious as to if we will be able to get revision help from you or the writing center during office hours.
I think having informed, open discussions will be important to this class.
I feel like the change in proportions of work completed inside and outside of class might be hard to get used to.
After reading the syllabus, I don’t have any questions about the information provided but I am a little nervous about the outside workload.
I think that an important part of the class will be keeping up with the reading and working on your writing as much as you can.

How can we stretch ourselves to contribute if we feel that our story, connecting to a certain topic, is too personal and we would rather not share it.
I think it will be important to have a sense of community and there needs to be a good level of truth within that community.

How often will we read materials outside of our four books purchased? (Richmond’s Unhealed History, Portfolio, etc.)
One of the most important things is likely going to be the quality of the class notes. If one person skimps on the material and only lightly skims, it will be detrimental to everyone else. Therefore, it’s going to be very important that everyone is putting in their full effort during their session as note-taker.
In regard to the honor code, are we able to comment on each other’s work, essays, etc?
Creating thorough and well thought out daily class notes is important for the success of everyone in the classroom.
