Mid-term Class Community Self-Assessment

Please read over the class community commitments: https://blog.richmond.edu/storytelling2023/class-commitments/

Consider your own actions so far this semester in light of these commitments.

Write a letter to yourself, and copy Professor Dolson. In the letter, assess your efforts to live up to the commitments.

  1. Explain where you have done well. Which commitment is easiest for you? Give examples of how you are meeting this commitment.
  2. Explain where you are struggling. Which commitment is challenging? What example or evidence can you give that show your struggle?
  3. Consider the class as a whole: where do you see us meeting the commitments? Where are falling short as a group?
  4. What do you want to do differently based on this reflection?

Format: Please make this a Word document or equivalent. I have no preferences for font, size, or number of words. But the length should not exceed 2 pages.

Please PRINT the letter and bring it to class on Tuesday, Oct. 3

Grading: This is worth 5 points, distributed as follows:

Careful reading of the commitments is evident: 1 point

Careful use of evidence and examples: 2 points

Insightful conclusions, based solidly on the self-assessment: 2 points
