First of all, was I the only one that took an embarrassingly long time to realize that the narrator was white, not a minority? Anyway, I definitely liked the story, but sometimes the non-chronological set up confused me a bit. At times, it was a bit frustrating because I just wanted to know what happened regarding a certain aspect of the story, but the next chapter was about something completely different! Namely, I kept expecting to read more about her cousin&#8217;s mixed-race baby, but she never mentioned it again after that short section.<\/p>\n<p>Other than that, I really appreciated the author&#8217;s focus on music and accurate descriptions of how a single song can evoke such deeply rooted memories. On another note, I&#8217;m still curious about the title.
