The events, in my opinion, built upon the specific identity of Marji and help show her development over time. Reading this book I also learned a lot about the influence of religion, not only for Marji, but for other women and girls before and after the unrest in Iran. I would also like to take a moment to recommend the movie or a viewing party to anyone who hasn’t seen it! The film was brilliantly done and does a good job of creating pathos while still maintaining the witty humor seen in the book. I think it would be really interesting to watch the film (which follows both Persepolis 1 and 2) and then discussing Marji’s development as a whole and her change in identity\/ personality over time. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
I found this book to be very intriguing, especially how each individual story was broken down by separate instances\/ memories.
