About your group project and Monday’s class

I am very glad you will be able to work on your project together, without me in your way : )  Monday will be a crucial time for you to come together and make this project your own, and also a project that the Bon Air participants will feel good about!

This will be an opportunity, too, for you to use what you have learned about how to be a class community.  Each citizen must contribute, and each one must be heard.  Consider: how will you make sure the voices of the less vocal are heard and respected? They have important contributions to make.  I find that a good way to work together is to begin by assigning roles.  Who wants to monitor the time?  Who is going to summarize for the group what is being said, and say it aloud to check for agreement? Who is going to make sure that everyone has spoken?

What will be the goal of your work together?  Make sure you write out the next steps to be taken, and whose responsibility it is, and when it will be done (deadline.) Consider when the project needs to be done to go to the print shop–probably Wed. Nov 30?

One thing I thought of was that what we could take to the celebration could be “galleys” instead of the final final.  You could be asking the Bon Air participants to give their final okays and edits.  Would that honor their participation more?

Have a great time.  I look forward to reading your posts, and seeing you when I get back.
