So I was unable to go to Bon Air last night, but it was still definitely still memorable. I had written my partner, Brian, a letter and Professor Dolson delivered it to him for me. After the group came back to UR, Sarah came to my room and gave me a letter he had written back and it instantly lifted my spirits.

First of all, Sarah told me about how bummed he was when he found out I wasn’t there. That made me so sad and I was so upset that I couldn’t go in the first place. But, Sarah said that when Tilley handed him the letter, he instantly smiled. That made me really happy and I was so glad that I could at least do that to make up for me not being there.

I had written in the letter about how much I admired him, how sorry I was that I couldn’t be there, and how I was looking forward to seeing him next week. I also referenced some things we had talked about to give him some possible stories to tell for the book.

What he wrote back was so thoughtful, so kind, and so caring. Also, every single slang word he uses, or the little phrases he always says were incorporated into the letter which made me feel like I was talking to him. He talked a lot about changing his future and working hard, which also made me feel really good. He ended it with, “Be safe!” and he told me he was going to work on his handwriting. He’s so sweet and I can’t wait to see him next week!
