4th Bon Air Meeting
This meeting was the first time that we went without Professor Dolson. Getting in was very easy as usual, except it took slightly longer for them to let us through the first gate. We got to the library before the residents, and talked a bit about the prompt we would use. What was surprising is that most of the tables had been removed and a lot of couches and beanbags were piled into one side of the room. There were still enough chairs though, and the large table was still there.
The residents came shortly after. Eric was here unlike the last time. He said that he wasn’t able to make it last time because he was tired and because he was doing something with his brother who is there in another unit. The prompt that we started with was either the best Halloween ever or a scary story. Afterwards they asked us what we were going to do for Halloween, but most of us said that we had schoolwork to do. This was the only prompt we did. The rest of our time there was mostly unstructured conversation as a group rather than splitting off into partners. A lot of different things were talked about, but there was a lot of focus on sports and their plans after they get out of Bon Air. As someone who doesn’t follow sports and who generally doesn’t find much enjoyment from group conversations, I didn’t really get a chance to say much. However, I did notice that Jordan and Trenton were talking a lot. Eric was talking a lot too, however it was different from when we were split off into smaller groups. He seemed less willing to talk about himself and his past experiences than usual, as when we asked him questions like what his favorite Halloween was he said he never did anything. He did ask a lot of questions, however. It was clear that he was trying to get everyone involved in the conversation. Overall, this meeting was fun, but was definitely different due to us not splitting into our smaller groups.
