Bon Air~Week 3
For the first time, we arrived at the library before the guys got there. When they did enter the library, they seemed so genuinely happy to see us! Everything about this 3rd Bon Air visit felt extremely natural. Conversation within the group just sort of happened! Connecting over shows that we used to watch as kids almost made it feel like we had all known each other our whole lives.
With my partner in particular, I noticed how important family is to him. His best day was when his dad (who later passed away) went to his big championship football game. His other best day was seeing his little sister graduation middle school and enter high school. That was cool to me because a lot of older siblings roll their eyes at having to sit through some ceremony. He said if/when he gets a tattoo it will probably be his parents names or grandmother’s name or the dates they died. Apparently, they get to paint/decorate their rooms however they want, and he has lots of pictures of his siblings, niece, cousins, and neighborhood on his wall. It also sounds like my partner already has a “vision board” of sorts. He has a picture of a big office desk that says CEO on it so that everyday he can wake up and see his future. We talked about his college plans and he sounds really focused. I’m so glad that he looks toward the future with hope rather than feeling like his future has already been decided for him.
