On the storytelling project, and your analysis paper due next Monday
I won’t see you until next Monday (except for the people who I see Sunday for Bon Air!) , so I am writing some notes to keep us all on the same path:
- Sarah wrote good notes for today. Please refer to them for resources.
- Next Monday, the final of your analysis paper is due for grading. You have all met with me once about analysis, and rewritten some attempts at analyzing a quote. When we examined the rubric last week, we were working on the paper, understanding how it will be assessed. I hope that by now you have a partial or rough draft and feel ready to revise. I suggest that you pair up with someone else from the class and trade papers. Apply the rubric. Talk about what you think you see–or don’t see–in the draft. Revise some more. If you have questions, email me. You can also make an appointment with the Writing Center–remember that the link is on our Syllabus/Class Policy page.
- I saw many of you working in the library after our session today, and looking for books you discovered through our library tutorial (Thanks, Lucretia!) When you are researching and you hit a wall–contact Lucretia. There is always another way! What I want you to see is how much interesting stuff is available in and through our library. Find a fun story to tell–that is the bottom line! On Monday, we’ll start to work on how to “tell.”
