Persepolis

I absolutely love this book. I read it in my freshman year of high school for world history and it definitely has stuck with me since. It embodies everything that storytelling attempts to achieve: not only can you feel true empathy, but you’re put in Marji’s life as if it were your own. It is so enjoyable and heartbreaking at the same time. I would love to learn more about the author and read other pieces she has written. I was also shocked that she remembered so much at such a young age, but then again, when you go through that much I bet it is hard to forget. I found it incredible how despite how different our lives are, I could find things to relate to. I am very curious to hear what everyone else has to say about it.
