Persepolis

She loved her clothes, and those clothes embodied what she liked and who she was, so when the Guardians of the Revolution questioned it, she tried to protect her identity

Somethings to add:
-Some students have to re-do their paperwork for Bon Air due to illegibility or forms filled out wrong.
-When listening learn to take in what people are saying to build a relationship and better understanding of what is being talked about.
-Professor Dolson is always open to talk or to guide someone in the right direction
-When thinking about the events that have occurred ask yourself what YOU can do

Comments:
When talking about the events that have occurred I could feel that there is a strong inclusive community in our school that helps support and talk to people affected by such terrible things that can happen in college. Although some in class felt like it wasn’t present at the time during discussion, I could feel that it was there. I have friends at other big schools that definitely don’t have such a rich base of support and the fact that the school takes these situations so seriously should be a good thing to consider when events like this happen. Obviously there were some mistakes made, but the school is very vocal and present in providing resources and other things to help combat such things and provide support to anyone who needs it.

Persepolis:
Although there is more to talk about with Persepolis, I felt like there was a good discussion already about the influences on identity in the book already. Going through different pages and pictures gave groups the ability to voice their opinions on major influences on Marjane Satrapi’s life. I am excited to dive deeper into the text tomorrow and talk about how different cultures, governments, and religious views can have big effects on people’s lives and identities.
