Connection to Storytelling and Identity

This weekend, I ran across a buzzed article by Mike Spohr that connected to Storytelling and Identity, and I wanted to share it with everyone. Last week Anna Dwdney, a children’s book author, passed away from brain cancer. According to Buzzfeed, her final request was that, “… in lieu of a funeral service- people read to a child instead” (Spohr). After reading the article about the stories our parents tell us, this request really spoke to me. I have a lot of fond memories of reading stories with my mom when I was little, so I was really touched by all the pictures that were included in the article of parents reading to their children. Here’s the link to the article if anyone wants to check it out. Thanks!
