Bon Air First Impression
I was a little taken aback by the intimidating fences that greeted us. I probably should have anticipated something along those lines considering where we were going, but it felt harsher to see the barbed wire in person. Upon entering the building, I immediately noticed the rolly chairs in the room we would be waiting in. For some reason, ever since I was little, I’ve loved chairs with wheels on them. Based on this silly logic, I felt instantly at ease again. Other contributing factors to my newfound comfort level: the little old lady helping us was so cute, I could hear the Ellen DeGeneres show playing in the lobby. Once it was my turn to get fingerprinted, I was surprised to see that everything was digital. Call me old-fashioned, but I had just assumed we would be using ink. It never even occurred to me that it’s 2016 and we’re all tech savvy now! That was nice because I had expected to leave with inky fingers. Overall, the process was far less official feeling and much more relaxed than I had imagined it would be.
