Ice Cube — Named O’Shea Jackson, he was born on June 15th, 1969 in South Central Los Angeles, California. He grew up behind his mother, a hospital clerk, and his father, a groundskeeper. Since O’Shea had both of his parents, his childhood was not as bad as most African Americans growing up in LA. In high school, his parents moved him to a school called San Fernando Valley. This is where O’Shea saw the violence, crime, killing, and arrest of his peers. In high school, O’Shea wrote his own raps and started a group called CIA. Eventually, this group caught the attention of later NWA member Andre Romelle Young, or Dr. Dre.
