It&#8217;d give us an erection.<br \/>\n<strong>ESTRAGON:<\/strong><br \/>\n(highly excited). An erection!<br \/>\n<strong>VLADIMIR:<\/strong><br \/>\nWith all that follows. Where it falls mandrakes grow. That&#8217;s why they shriek when<br \/>\nyou pull them up. Did you not know that?<br \/>\n<strong>ESTRAGON:<\/strong><br \/>\nLet&#8217;s hang ourselves immediately!<br \/>\n<strong>VLADIMIR:<\/strong><br \/>\nFrom a bough? (They go towards the tree.) I wouldn&#8217;t trust it.<br \/>\n<strong>ESTRAGON:<\/strong><br \/>\nWe can always try.<br \/>\n<strong>VLADIMIR:<\/strong><br \/>\nGo ahead.<br \/>\n<strong>ESTRAGON:<\/strong><br \/>\nAfter you.<br \/>\n<strong>VLADIMIR:<\/strong><br \/>\nNo no, you first.<br \/>\n<strong>ESTRAGON:<\/strong><br \/>\nWhy me?<\/p>\n<p><strong>VLADIMIR:<\/strong><br \/>\nYou&#8217;re lighter than I am.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ESTRAGON:<\/strong><br \/>\nJust so!<\/p>\n<p><strong>VLADIMIR:<\/strong><br \/>\nI don&#8217;t understand.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ESTRAGON:<\/strong><br \/>\nUse your intelligence, can&#8217;t you?<br \/>\nVladimir uses his intelligence.<\/p>\n<p><strong>VLADIMIR:<\/strong><br \/>\n(finally). I remain in the dark.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ESTRAGON:<\/strong><br \/>\nThis is how it is. (He reflects.) The bough . . . the bough . . . (Angrily.) Use your<br \/>\nhead, can&#8217;t you?<\/p>\n<p><strong>VLADIMIR:<\/strong><br \/>\nYou&#8217;re my only hope.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ESTRAGON:<\/strong><br \/>\n(with effort). Gogo light\u20ac\u201dbough not break\u20ac\u201dGogo dead. Didi heavy\u20ac\u201dbough<br \/>\nbreak\u20ac\u201dDidi alone. Whereas\u20ac\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>VLADIMIR:<\/strong><br \/>\nI hadn&#8217;t thought of that.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ESTRAGON:<\/strong><br \/>\nIf it hangs you it&#8217;ll hang anything.<\/p>\n<p><strong>VLADIMIR:<\/strong><br \/>\nBut am I heavier than you?<\/p>\n<p><strong>ESTRAGON:<\/strong><br \/>\nSo you tell me. I don&#8217;t know. There&#8217;s an even chance. Or nearly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>VLADIMIR:<\/strong><br \/>\nWell? What do we do?<\/p>\n<p><strong>ESTRAGON:<\/strong><br \/>\nDon&#8217;t let&#8217;s do anything.
