As Erica has stated, Waiting for Godot is different from reality due to short term memory lapses by the characters, the concept\u00a0that time is skewed, and the day is repeated.\u00a0 I think all of these propsitions tie together.\u00a0\u00a0By presenting the concept that time is skewed by presenting repeating days and unreliable memories, Beckett makes it clear that the specifics of the play\u00a0are not important.\u00a0 If they were, the audience would have a clear understanding of exactly when and where the play takes place.\u00a0 However, by making time and events unreliable,\u00a0it becomes apparent that this\u00a0play is universal.\u00a0\u00a0It can be occurring anywhere and at anytime, and it\u00a0applies to all of mankind.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
