About Dr. Richardson

Dr. Karen Work Richardson has had a love affair with technology for over 40 years and for almost all of that time, she has been helping educators learn to integrate digital technologies into their classrooms to enhance and engage the educational environment. Karen is the Executive Director Emeritus of the Virginia Society for Technology in Education. She continues to teach and present and has been having fun watching AI make its way into classrooms.

During her nearly four decades in education, Karen has taught high school English, middle school language arts and technology, and now focuses her attention on pre-service and in-service teachers, teaching both face-to-face and online courses related to educational technology and school leadership and administration.

Karen is an advocate for teachers and equity in technology. She lives on a farm in rural southeast Virginia and blogs sporadically at In Another Place.
