Tech Meets Teaching- My Ed Tech Vision

As a classroom teacher, I never had any say or really any input on the technology that we have and us in my classroom or in my district. I go to a faculty meeting or a professional development on what the newest technology tool I am supposed to implement and use in my classroom. As a future principal, I am aware that it will be my duty to choose the technology and all that comes with it. I only have two really big points to me that I would want to be included in my ed tech plan as a future principal.

  1. Personalized learning: to emphasis that the role of technology is to enhance the learning in the classroom, this can include materials that not only differentiate material, but also allows access to materials that may not be accessible due to location, finance, or other barriers. This in hand will create learning experiences to be more stimulating and engaging.
  2. Equitable Access and Autonomy: to ensure that not only do all students have equal access to the technology regardless of socioeconomic, but I want to take it one step further to teacher allow teacher autonomy to use the technology in their class. The technology will not be forced on teachers who are effective (this can be measured qualitatively and quantitatively). Along with equitable access, I would like my teachers to attend professional devon technology that interest them when possible and to have access to coaches and specialist who can help teachers with technologies.

As a future principal, I aim to influence technology choices to enhance classroom learning by focusing on personalized learning, which includes providing differentiated materials and overcoming barriers such as location and finance. I also plan to ensure equitable access to technology for all students and give teachers the autonomy to use these tools effectively, without imposing them on those already succeeding. Additionally, I will support teachers through professional development and access to coaches to help them integrate technology that aligns with their interests and needs. (ChatGPT).
