First Class Information: August 27, 2024

Our first class meeting will take place on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, from 5:30 – 8:00 PM in Room 229 of the Carole Weinstein International Center. I am looking forward to meeting you and diving into our School Technology journey.

Prior to class, please make sure you are able to log onto the secure UR wifi network. I recommend you bring a laptop or professional tablet (ie, Surface Pro or iPad Pro) as we use technology pretty intensively and phones and low-end tablets often can’t keep up.

Since you are reading this, I am confident you were able to log into the course site 😉 Take a look at the schedule, syllabus and assignments. Our icebreaker question for introductions will be what you know about edtech and what you want to learn so find a few minutes to consider that before we meet. We are a very small group so I will be able to personalize the approach to resources and class activities depending on your preferences and areas of interest in the wide world of school technology!

P.S. I will be posting classic and contemporary videos related to education and technology throughout the semester. I thought it was appropriate to start with Seymour Papert: viewing is optional but I think you will find him fascinating! We will be talking about him in class as well.
