Since 2002, the R-J lab has used molecular genetic and microbiological approaches to understand how bacteria live in diverse environments.\u00a0 These environments range from the human colon (Shigella flexneri) <\/em>to the tsetse fly gut (Sodalis glossinidius<\/em>) to fermented foods (our newest project). \u00a0 In our lab, we are exploring biology and beyond by investigating how organisms thrive and grow in their environments.<\/p>\n
