Create a target employer list.<\/li>\n<li>In <a href=\"https:\/\/law-richmond-csm.symplicity.com\/students\/\" target=\"_blank\">Symplicity<\/a>, review summer employment evaluations completed by students who previously interned at target employers.<\/li>\n<li>Draft cover letters for various types of employers and employment settings and work with your advisor to refine them.<\/li>\n<li>Become a student member of bar associations and legal interest groups in your geographic areas of interest.<\/li>\n<li>Attend <em>Maximizing Symplicity<\/em> training to learn the features of the system (Nov. 14, 15, and 17).<\/li>\n<li>Attend <em>Cover Letter Workshop<\/em> to learn to draft compelling cover letters for law-related positions (Nov. 16).<\/li>\n<li>Attend <em>Interview Skills Workshop: The Basics<\/em> to learn tips, techniques and best practices for making a positive self-presentation during screening and call-back interviews (Nov. 18).<\/li>\n<li>Conduct a videotaped mock interview in the CDO if you plan to interview over winter break.<\/li>\n<li>Line up references from law school faculty and previous employers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2LS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you are interested in a career in employment law, attend the <em>Close Up: Employment Law<\/em> program\u00a0(Nov. 10).<\/li>\n<li>Attend Pushing Forward: Tips for 2Ls for Landing a Summer Job (Nov. 11).<\/li>\n<li>Are you planning to apply for a second summer fellowship for summer 2017? Attend the Summer Fellowship Second Request Information Session (Nov. 14)<\/li>\n<li>Continue contacting smaller law firms, banks and corporations, and legal publishers, associations, and public interest organizations.<\/li>\n<li>Update your employment search network tracking document.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>3LS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Attend Bridge to Practice Fellowship informational program.
