Steenz – Nicole Burney

Steenz’s visit was very interesting and informative. I was very intrigued by their perspective on comics, in a way that they are not just consumable data but a tool and way to build community and communities. Their goal of trying to develop a welcoming and accepting culture within the world of comics is amazing, especially the backlash they received creating their own comics. Their approach to comics is interesting as well. Using comics as a way of entertainment but also to build community engagement and educational purposes. They are an advocate for diversity and inclusion within comics culture.
