My data visualization is visualizing female and American Cartoonists. This is a data table I created to list all the American female cartoonists ever. This visualization is typically used for displaying data in a clear and concise way that shows researchers all of the results of their search in seconds. This is being shown effectively because it is a comprehensive list that is easily accessible. The interesting point for me in this data visualization is how many female cartoonists there are. I was expecting there to be a lot, however the list stops at 211 and is only two pages long. I was definitely thinking there would be many more female cartoonists over the years. I had a hard time getting going with this assignment because I didn’t know what I wanted to research or how to go about that research. However, in the past I have done extensive work with feminism in various communications fields, so I figured this topic would have some research on it. I added American to the mix because I figured that would make the list smaller, and it would be easier for me to analyze it. Lastly, I am planning to do the wiki data query builder for the critical creation assignment one. I will be doing the one visualization related to comic strips.
