I chose the Wikidata: Wikiproject PCC Wikidata Pilot/ San Diego State University/ Comic Arts Project. This is an example of a network diagram. This type of visualization usually shows relevant data on the specific task. This is a good visualization of data on a particular project. This data is all confined to one page with multiple links to choose from to take you to a specific link. This visualization shows me all about the comic art projects at San Diego State University. The queries are showing information on. certain characters, and creators that are all relevant to the project. This information is all being shown effectively because it takes all of the information and narrows it down to different sections to help readers find accurate information quickly. Personally, I believe that the section about the connections to SDSU is very interesting. I like how this database can connect information to a certain college. While reading the class readings, one stated “Understanding the data model before you begin—what is connected to what and how are you characterizing the links or relations—is essential if the digital tools are to be used effectively” (ch 6 pg 105). I believe that this is certainly accurate information to know. While reading data and research it is important to have a background on what you’re looking into so it doesn’t become overwhelming for the reader. While looking over this database, there were not many charts or graphs shown at first glance. This database has a lot of information but can be tricky to understand if there is no background information.
