Minute Paper 10.22.15

“The Secret Revelations of John” changes the interpretation of Genesis making Yaldabaoth, the Jewish God, fairly evil. The savior makes Adam and Eve eat the fruit to save them because now that they are fleshy they are not as godly, so Epinoia comes to give them back goodness and awaken them. Genesis is Yaldabaoth’s interpretation of the story, so he presents himself as a singular God who is good, until he has to punish humans for being awakened by the evil “snake.” This interpretation answers questions like; where did God Himself come from? and why did God even put the forbidden fruit in the garden?
