Minute Paper 10.15.15

Today we analyzed Levison’s piece contrasting different accounts of creation. Eve tells her own story and presents herself as innocent. We worked on mini theses for each section of Levison’s piece and our final thesis for the article a whole was: Levison argues that sections 15-30 were written separately from the rest of the “Apocalypse of Moses” because the presentation of Eve as confident and less guilty; the reader feels more sympathetic to her story and opposed to 1-14 and 31-43 , and grammatically, the stories can stand alone.
