Minute Paper 9/22 The Amateur Experts

Today, we primarily discussed the similar elements found in both Genesis and other popular mythologies of the time, as written by Collins in his book about Hebrew Scriptures. We organized his main concepts in a concept map; major ideas in his work include recurring themes, archetypal characters, and construction similarities. These similar constructions can be helpful for scholars who are interpreting the often difficult-to-decipher passages of Genesis because many items in the Bible can be referenced in other works to gain contextual information.
