Minute Paper

Maddie, Lydia, Nia

An individual’s perception of reality is colored by his or her own experiences; this means that the human experience is not cut-and-dry. The morality of a situation is usually dependent upon circumstance, and the truth often fluctuates between experiences. In relation to statesmanship, the appearance of competence and leadership are more pertinent than whether or not the individual in question actually possesses those qualities. However, when leaders are called upon to problem-solve, they will find that playing the “devil’s advocate” informs them of the strengths of their own argument.
