Aronofsky’s Noah

In class, we discussed about the choices of Aronofsky in presenting the Noah story. He changed some aspects of the original Noah story to make it more relevant in this modern time. In the movie, earth was portrayed as dark and dead, symbolizing Aronofsky’s point of environmental issues. He had Noah state that humans should only use what they need, while this is absent in the original text. Every time the story is adapted to a new medium, the new author brings in his/her own perspective to fit the current time period.
