Today we began to discuss the story of Noah and the Flood from Genesis 6:1-9:29. We analyzed several different aspects of this ancient Judeo-Christian account such as the functionality of the Nephilim, the significance of the animals on the boat, and God’s purposes in such acts as saving Noah’s family and sending a rainbow. Furthermore, we concluded any questions we had about minute details of the story. We discussed how these aspects of the story functioned in society and how they helped explain the nature of the world.
