Chapter Summaries

We will collaborate to develop useful summaries of each chapter of our primary text, Social Science Research, that can help everyone better understand the sometimes complicated topic of research methods in the social sciences and the humanities.

There are 16 chapters. Each chapter should be summarized, after which each summary should receive two responses. Each student is responsible for summarizing 2 chapters, and each student is responsible for serving as respondent on 4 chapters. Each chapter summary should be a new post, tagged with the Chapter Summary category and titled “Summary of Chapter x” (where “x” represents chapter number).

Use the table below to sign up for a 2 chapter summaries and 4 respondent roles. Up to 4 chapters may receive two summaries. Each summary should receive 2 responses, which may mean that 4 chapters end up with 4 respondents rather than 2. The bottom line is that all students summarize exactly 2 chapters and write exactly 4 responses, 2 for 2 separate summaries.

To enter content into the table, enter the dashboard and select “TablePress” in the left menu. Look for the table named “Chapter Summary Schedule.” You should have permissions to type into fields. Don’t delete anything in the fields! Add a comma and your name if entering your name into a chapter with a second summary or into a respondent field as a second respondent.
