What is race? How does race differ from ethnicity? What about culture? How are these terms related to health? These are some of the questions we’ll be tackling in this course. Together with our text, we’ll read, The spirit catches you and you fall down: A Hmong child, her American doctors, and the collision of two cultures and watch some insightful videos to better understand health disparities, the importance of cultural sensitivity and how social justice can help achieve health equity.
