Endocrine Disrupting Compounds and Accessibility
Chemical mixtures that interfere with hormones, known as endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs), impact the body in many ways. Growth, development, reproduction, metabolism, psychological responses to stress, and even cancer can all be affected by EDCs....
The Pollock lab utilizes chemical biology techniques, biochemical methods, and organic synthesis to understand breast cancer and inflammatory disease development and progression. In particular, we are interested in nuclear receptor function, phosphorylation signaling pathways, design of prodrugs, and the link between cancer and inflammation. We have a lot of collaborators on and off campus so we can expand our scientific discoveries.
