Using Unnatural Aminoacids to study protein-protein interactions
This summer, in Dr. Pollock’s research lab, I will be implementing a new technique that allows the incorporation of an unnatural amino acid into a protein. Aminoacids are the building blocks of proteins, and the sequence of these aminoacids determines the...
The Pollock lab utilizes chemical biology techniques, biochemical methods, and organic synthesis to understand breast cancer and inflammatory disease development and progression. In particular, we are interested in nuclear receptor function, phosphorylation signaling pathways, design of prodrugs, and the link between cancer and inflammation. We have a lot of collaborators on and off campus so we can expand our scientific discoveries.
