Fair warning -- this is going to be a long post. Earlier this month, I traveled with 7 of my research students to Augusta, Georgia for the 70th annual Southeastern Regional Meeting of the American Chemical Society. I gave a talk and they all did posters....
The Pollock lab utilizes chemical biology techniques, biochemical methods, and organic synthesis to understand breast cancer and inflammatory disease development and progression. In particular, we are interested in nuclear receptor function, phosphorylation signaling pathways, design of prodrugs, and the link between cancer and inflammation. We have a lot of collaborators on and off campus so we can expand our scientific discoveries.
