{"id":121,"date":"2009-05-05T12:52:26","date_gmt":"2009-05-05T17:52:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/physicsbunn\/2009\/05\/05\/andrew-hearin-03\/"},"modified":"2009-05-05T12:52:26","modified_gmt":"2009-05-05T17:52:26","slug":"andrew-hearin-03","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/physicsbunn\/2009\/05\/05\/andrew-hearin-03\/","title":{"rendered":"Andrew Hearin &#8217;03"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Like most academics, I obsessively keep track of who&#8217;s citing my work.\u00a0 As a result, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iop.org\/EJ\/abstract\/1475-7516\/2009\/04\/032\/\">this paper<\/a> caught my eye today.\u00a0 (If that link doesn&#8217;t work, try <a href=\"http:\/\/arxiv.org\/abs\/0904.3334\">this one<\/a>.)\u00a0 The lead author is a UR alumnus and winner of both of the physics departments main awards in his senior year.\u00a0 During my first year here, I taught him in an independent study course on relativity.\u00a0 He went off to graduate school in mathematics, but he later saw the light and came back to physics.<\/p>\n<p>I haven&#8217;t read the paper in detail yet, but from the abstract it looks like a very nice piece of work (in addition to having the good taste to cite me).
