\nToday\u2019s installment of Spider Sounds<\/a> comes courtesy of Music Library Student worker Gabriela (class of 2020) and features Abbey Road<\/a><\/strong>, the last studio album by the Beatles<\/a>. Thanks, Gabi!<\/em><\/p>\n

Abbey Road <\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

Abbey Road<\/em><\/a> may have one of the most recognizable album covers in all of rock music.
\nIt is known for depicting the Fab Four walking across the famous London street near the studio where the Beatles did most of their recording<\/a>. Apart from the iconic artwork, however, Abbey Road<\/em><\/a>\u2019s production quality and track list are undeniably stellar.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

There are several stand out songs, like \u201cCome Together<\/a>,\u201d \u201cSomething<\/a>,\u201d and \u201cHere Comes the Sun<\/a>,\u201d which are individually famous and could be enjoyed on their own.
\nHowever, if you listen to Abbey Road<\/a><\/em> from start to finish, it is almost as if the entirety of the album is one song. The transitions from track to track are so perfect, that the flow of listening is almost medley-like. <\/p>\n

The album also highlights the talents of all band members, with some of George Harrison<\/a>\u2019s most beautiful songs (“Something<\/a>\u201d and \u201cHere Comes the Sun<\/a>\u201d), Ringo<\/a>\u2019s quirkiness in \u201cOctopus’s Garden<\/a>\u201d, and of course, the amazing harmonies between Lennon, McCartney, and Harrison in \u201cBecause<\/a>\u201d — a song that barely needs instruments. <\/p>\n

Abbey Road<\/a><\/em> is my favorite Beatles record because it represents everything I think a record should. Abbey Road<\/a><\/em> was the last album to be recorded by the Beatles, and throughout the last four tracks (especially in \u201cThe End<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201d) the sounds of the end of an era can be heard, as the lyrics and melodies provide a sense of conclusiveness for the listener, who is left in awe and appreciation of one of the greatest bands of all time. <\/p>\n
