Schaefer<\/strong>.\u00a0 What do peaches, raspberries, peas, corn, peanuts and pumpkins\u00a0have in common?\u00a0They all begin with a flower.\u00a0 <strong>Lindsay Barrett George&#8217;s <\/strong>lifelike paintings take centerstage as they illustrate\u00a0a\u00a0flower being pollinated; the developing fruit; and finally, after you\u00a0 fold-out the page, a child picking, pulling, or snapping the ripe fruit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Curriculum Connections<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s the detailed pictures&#8211;a bloom left on the end of a peapod, a cross-section showing seeds in\u00a0fruit, a cut-away showing a tangle of peanuts underground&#8211;that make <em>Pick, Pull, Snap!<\/em>\u00a0a great tie-in to any elementary grade-level\u00a0life science unit on plants.
