Adler and illustrated by E. Miller is aimed for ages 9 -12 years and offers graphic explanations of fraction problems.\u00a0 Definitions are given for numerator and denominator along with the function of comparison of fractions.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.com\/0761434054\">Holiday Fractions<\/a> by J. Roy and G. Roy are for readers 8 -12 years of age, grades 3 -7.\u00a0 Holiday fractions combine the holidays with fractions to bolster the student&#8217;s understanding of fractions.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.com\/0439135192\">The Hershey&#8217;s Milk Chocolate Bar Fraction Book<\/a> by Jerry Pallotta and illustrated by R. Bolster offer a &#8220;yummy&#8221; set of visuals to show how a chocolate bar can be divided into to rectangular blocks to represent fractional equivalents.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.com\/0312377495\">Polar Bear Math<\/a> by A. Nagda and C. Bickel is for students who already have a working knowledge of basic fractions (ages 7-12).\u00a0\u00a0 Fractions and\u00a0 delightful polar bears are combined to broaden the student understanding of fractions.\u00a0 There are pictographs along with problems that compares and ask students to calculate fractions.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.com\/0590437704\">Eating Fractions<\/a> by B. McMillan is a book designed for students who may need a little more of a refresher on fraction basic (grades 2-3).\u00a0 The book shows children eating their way through various foods displayed in fraction form.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>5 Best Web Sites for Kids<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Game &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.funbrain.com\/fract\/index.html\">Fresh Baked Fractions<\/a>.\u00a0 Site offers an interactive game where the student must choose the fraction that does not belong in the equivalent set.\u00a0 It is then displayed if the fraction chosen is correct and resets to a new problem.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mathleague.com\/help\/fractions\/fractions.htm\">Math League<\/a> will give definitions for fractions, equivalents, and comparisons of fractions.\u00a0 Be sure to click on each new page.\u00a0 Mixed fractions are also covered.\u00a0 Site offer good background information but requires reading and is technical.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kidsolr.com\/math\/fractions.html\">Fraction Fun<\/a> is an interactive site where students can see visual representations of divided fraction squares, circles, triangles, and rectangles.\u00a0 Equivalent fractions uses a &#8220;put cursor over&#8221; the correct answer and if you see the smiling face, your choice is correct.\u00a0 Just use the pencil for &#8220;next&#8221; or &#8220;back&#8221;.\u00a0 Audio sounds included.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/schools\/ks2bitesize\/maths\/activities\/fractions.shtml\">Ordering Fractions Game<\/a> is an game where the student will order a fraction by hanging it as a picture on the wall from smallest to largest.\u00a0 The student can rearrange the fractions and once all 5 fractions are displayed to the student&#8217;s liking, the student will click done and the game will display if the set was ordered correctly.<\/li>\n<li>Play a game of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.321know.com\/fra42ax2.htm\">Equivalent Fractions<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.321know.com\/fra43cx2.htm\">Comparing Unlike Fractions<\/a>.\u00a0 First read though the background information on equivalent or comparing fractions.\u00a0 Then scroll down to practice.\u00a0 The website will give a problem where you choose the equivalent fraction from the list.\u00a0 If your answer is right, then you are given a new question.\u00a0 Scroll on down to the PLAY section to test your knowledge.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Additional Resources<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> Cross Curricular Book, <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.com\/0823988775\">Music Math<\/a>, by K. Alexander, is a book of 19 fraction games along with 86 cards.\u00a0 The games build on the student&#8217;s understanding and application on how to manipulate fractions.<\/li>\n<li> Fraction <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teachingideas.co.uk\/maths\/contents08fracdecperratprop.htm\">posters, worksheets, and activities<\/a> can be found all under one site.\u00a0 Enjoy.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.com\/059096576X\">Funny and Fabulous Fraction Stories<\/a> by D. Greenberg and J.
