Our White Paper
The new Olympic host city contract includes groundbreaking anti-corruption and human rights provisions. But what do they mean in practice? How does an organizing committee, or a host city, operationalize those clauses?
Through workshops and collaborative drafting, the Task Force has produced the first in-depth analysis of these new contractual provisions. “The New Anti-Corruption and Human Rights Clauses: Their Meaning in Practice” provides an interpretation of each clause that is meant to be precise and rigorous but non-technical and accessible. The paper identifies practical measures to implement those clauses, while also flagging phrases that may require further IOC clarification.
The Task Force hopes this paper converts abstract contractual language into concrete measures that help compliance officers improve host city anti-corruption and human rights governance.
