The Weeknd is most known for his \u201csultry falsetto\u201d as well as his self-loathing attitude, (Lester 1). The Weeknd sings in\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">falsetto frequently which shows that sense of, \u201cbarely holding on,\u201d since it is harder for males to hit this range. Although his higher register is present throughout the song, it is most prominent in \u201cthe after party.\u201d The Weeknd\u2019s high register voice is one of his most attractive qualities as he moves through ranges with ease and avoids voice cracks. Similarly, In Mat Johansson\u2019s article, \u201cMichael Jackson and the Expressive Power of Voice-produced Sound,\u201d he mentions that Jackson\u2019s falsetto was a stylistic choice. It was not just \u201c&#8230;aimed at reaching high notes,\u201d because he already does that so effortlessly and often has \u201cseamless transitions between registers,\u201d (Johansson 268).
