She constantly voices her freedom throughout the show and breaks away from expectations of women at the time by openly expressing her sexuality. However, the male characters and the society she lived in ultimately used her free nature and open expression of sexuality to cage her. In my blog post, I want explore this idea of finding freedom in one\u2019s sexuality versus the consequences that unfortunately can stem from it due to society through analyzing several female performers\u2019 attempt to express their freedom.
